A majority of the Central High School Site Selection Committee favors a location in the Central Hillside below Skyline Parkway, but there is not a clear-cut consensus. The committee reported to the Board of Education last night.
Three police officers were given commendation awards yesterday for their speedy apprehension of persons involved in a Dec. 27 burglary. Sgt. Nick Radulovich and patrolmen Kurt Johnson and Patrick Alexander were recognized by the Police Department Citation Board.

George Hovland of Duluth, and Rick Scott and Jon Stephenson of Superior, spent the last four days cross-country skiing the 150-mile North Shore Trail from Grand Marais to Duluth. The three completed the journey near nightfall yesterday.
The At Home store in the Holiday Center in downtown Duluth has closed. Marilyn Hollingworth, owner of the five-year-old fabric and wallpaper decorating business, is currently operating out of her home and looking for another space.
